bengali new year & a plan

Let's start with an apology, shall we? An apology for spamming your inbox with an old newsletter and an acceptance that last month's juggling act was a disaster considering the various balls that were dropped and rolled away. While people were pranking each other on April Fool's day, I was busy promising myself of doing a better job and more importantly, being kind to myself — this after I spent a major chunk of yesterday feeling guilty about the old newsletter situation and for several other things, including some random incidents that happened decades ago. Not good for mental health, this self-flagellation.

So let's talk about the good things in life... books and food!
April is also the month of the regional New Year celebrations with Poila Boishakh, Baisakhi, Bihu and more. So this month's newsletter contains a few recommendations for the feasts that you will plan for yourself, with or without family and friends. Mine is going to be unique for sure and away from the parents so fingers crossed!

I finally caught up on some reading amid the hoopla of planning a move (more on that later), got around to sharing my thoughts on them and decided to take the easier route of sharing the recipe for one of my favourite comfort foods - I shared it on Instagram!

And while on Instagram, I hope all of you who've grown up on Hindi movies from the 1970s and 80s are enjoying the sheer class, wit and sophisticated sass that Zeenat Aman has brought to the gram. That's a masterclass happening right there, my friends!

On that note, I shall leave you with a question here – would you prefer an email update as and when a new post has gone up on the blog or a monthly newsletter? Drop me a line, will you? Your opinion matters.
Until next time,
