Growing up, children have to be taught where blessings come from. They know that parents give them what they want when they can, and if they can. Children have to be taught to be thankful for what they have, and appreciate each other. They have to be taught about the LORD. We have to let them know how much Jesus loves them, and how He will always be with them when we can't be with them. I remember when I taught my children about Jesus, they were so happy that they had someone who would never leave them nor forsake them. They always talked about becoming missionaries and telling others about Jesus. That made my heart so happy. When they were older, they kind of fell away. I did everything I could to help them remember what I had taught them, and what they had learned at church. I guess they were not ready to follow Him yet. I suppose they didn't really understand about commitment at such a young age. I can say that they love Jesus. Just hearing them talk about Him made my heart so happy, and it still does to this very day. When they grew up, they began to understand what it meant to follow Jesus. They wanted to know more about Him, so that is when I began really teaching Bible study every day. After the years went by, they really appreciated the time we spent together talking and reading the Bible together. Now that they have their own lives, they know what it is to really trust and have faith in Jesus.
The years and time came and went so fast. I often wonder what it is going to be like next year this time for my children. I hope they will remember what they were taught and share it with others. All we can do is hope for the best when we are raising them. It is hard to let them go when that time arrives. I always have taught my children to respect themselves and others, and to be kind to everyone. Who will you share the Word of God with today? Who will you show His love to? Who will you encourage today? Just remember that when you feel that no one loves you, Jesus does. He always will.
If you have not talked to Jesus today, take some time out and talk to Him. Tell Him everything that's on your heart. He is ready to listen to it all. With that being said, God bless, stay safe, and thank you for joining me on my journey with Food for the Soul.
