Mission House owes its existence to the collaboration between four local churches: Christ Episcopal Church, Palms Presbyterian Church, St. Paul's Catholic Church, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church (then known as St. Francis Seaside Ministry). These dedicated congregations had been offering food and clothing from their facilities for more than ten years before coming together with 162 donors to purchase the property at 800 Shetter Avenue in February 1997.
