Because 2 of the MapWorld Girls were in town this weekend, we managed to catch up over dinner this evening. These days it's a long time between meetings. The last time was in Timaru at the end of April so there was LOTS to talk about.
Bearing in mind there was lots to talk about, and we didn't have time to waste pouring over the extensive menu, we decided on the set menu: Corn soup, Wontons, Spring rolls, Sweet and Sour Pork, Chicken with Cashew nuts, Beef with Black Bean Sauce and Egg Fried Rice. As I write it all out, it seems like a lot of food, but there was enough left over to take away.
Although the above makes it look like a lot of food (does the lady protest too much perhaps?), the bowls weren't large. And the food was all right - not great as it was all a bit bland to be honest.
But we had so much to catch up on that the food really was secondary.
The other member of the group is now in Spain having traversed most of the North Atlantic Islands after first visiting Western Africa (Senegal and Gambia mainly). Her photos are amazing and we're looking forward to a long debrief when she gets back in mid September.
This restaurant wasn't busy, and the speed of delivery of food was very quick.
