I like to put a drop of lavender on the bottoms of my big toes and on my navel before I go to bed, to slide into sleep easier.
For pollen allergies, I like to put mint oil in the little hollow at the base of my neck.
Orange oil inhaled from the palms of my hands makes me feel more alive and juicy.
For a muscle strain or sprain, I like mint, but especially Pain Exit by Nature's Oils, which is a blend of peppermint, clove, birch, hyssop and helichrysum.
Helichrysum is rare and expensive, but wow, there's nothing like it for healing the skin overnight from a cut, infection, burn, and such like that. It carries an amazingly high vibration.
Tea tree oil knocks out infections well. It is quite strong. (I wouldn't put it into my ear, for instance, but I would put a drop on a cotton ball and let that sit in my ear.)
Lavender is known to be a great all-around essential oil for relaxing and healing everything. And it is the most gentle and soothing choice.
In the pandemic when I was ill, I put helichrysum, lavender, eucalyptus, and tea tree into my diffuser and inhaled the steam (holding a towel-tent open around my head to funnel all that goodness into my lungs). Years before, this approach helped me with viral pneumonia.
Oregano oil is different than an essential oil, but it is remarkable at knocking out a virus. (Extremely bitter, it is taken in drops under the tongue.)

My favorite fat little book to determine which oils to use for which ailment was published by abundanthealth4u, - called Quick Reference Guide for Using Essential Oils, by Connie and Alan Higley. (I have the old spiral bound version.)
The other day I heard about a homemade Natural Disinfecting Spray, by the Queen of Clean. The following is her recipe.
DIY Natural Disinfecting Spray
Get a 24 ounce spray bottle (and a funnel to fill the bottle).
Mix ingredients in a measuring cup or bowl:
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup inexpensive vodka
1 1/2 cups water
14 drops lavender essential oil
14 drops lemon essential oil
Spray on all hard surfaces and let it stay wet on the surface for 10 minutes to disinfect. Then wipe off.
All these ingredients contribute to the antibacterial and antiseptic properties of this spray.
You can substitute or add other antibacterial oils such as rosemary, basil, or tea tree oil. White vinegar is the most acidic, so it does a good job here. (And we know vodka can knock out anything.)
Be sure to let the surface remain wet for ten minutes, because that's when the spray is doing its disinfecting job.
