From Alice Parker, Lamar County (Purvis), Country Cooking from the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation (1987) BARBECUED HOT DOGS Yield: 2 dozen 1 large bell pepper, seeded, chopped 2 large onions, chopped 1½ C catsup or chili sauce ½ tsp salt ¼ tsp pepper 3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 3 Tbsp vinegar or lemon juice 1 Tbsp brown sugar 1 C water or stock 1 Tbsp vegetable oil 2 dozen wieners Preheat oven to 350o. Combine bell pepper, onion, catsup or chili sauce, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar or lemon juice, brown sugar, water or stock, and vegetable oil.
