Hiya everyone!
Welcome to my blog at a very exciting time!! If you follow my insta then u probably already know as I made a reel
but today's post wouldn't have been possible had it not been for one book that I went back in a shop for...........I then left with SIX in total
. What can I say?? They all looked so good!! I've been getting rid of a lot of my old books recently so there's space for new ones which is always nice!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it! It makes for a good excuse anyway
. The reel I made was fast but this is gonna be more of a chatty thing where we go through each book soooo are you ready for a book haul??? Because its coming your way!! Let's get this show on the road!! Here's what I got
:
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
Yadriel has summoned a ghost, and now he can't get rid of him.
In an attempt to prove himself a true brujo and gain his family's acceptance, Yadriel decides to summon his cousin's ghost and help him cross to the afterlife.
But things get complicated when he accidentally summons the ghost of his high school's resident bad boy, Julian Diaz – and Julian won't go into death quietly.
The two boys must work together if Yadriel is to move forward with his plan.
But the more time Yadriel and Julian spend together, the harder it is to let each other go.
The culprit of this entire post is right here
. I recognised Cemetery Boys from a blog post way back before it was even out and somebody was saying they were looking forward to it which inadvertently made me look forward to it too...until the forgetting set in (disney dreamlight valley players will get that
). Coming across this book I instantly wanted it but decided to go away to think about it for some reason and then I went back to buy it and this whole debacle took place where I purchased 5 extra books (blink and you'd have missed me that day, I was so fast
). This book sounds sooo good and I can't wait to get stuck into it, it for sure sounds like nothing I've read before.
Legendborn by Tracy Deonn
After her mother dies in an accident, sixteen-year-old Bree Matthews wants to escape. A residential programme for bright high-schoolers seems like the perfect opportunity – until she witnesses a magical attack her very first night on campus . . .
A flying demon feeding on human energies.
A secret society of so-called "Legendborn" that hunt the creatures down.
A mysterious mage who calls himself a "Merlin" and who attempts – and fails – to wipe Bree's memory of everything she saw.
The mage's failure unlocks Bree's own unique magic and a buried memory about her mother. Now Bree will do whatever it takes to discover the truth, even infiltrate the Legendborn. But when the Legendborn reveal themselves as the descendants of King Arthur's knights and foretell a magical war, Bree must decide how far she'll go for the truth. Should she use her magic to take the society down – or join the fight?
This reminds me a bit of City of Bones and I absolutely LOVED that when I was younger so I'm very intrigued to see what it's actually like. It sounds like the kind of book that's built a whole world and I can't wait to fall into that

It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey.
Piper Bellinger is fashionable, influential, and her reputation as a wild child means the paparazzi are constantly on her heels. When too much champagne and an out-of-control rooftop party lands Piper in the slammer, her stepfather decides enough is enough. So he cuts her off, and sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father's dive bar... in Washington.
Piper hasn't even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won't last a week outside of Beverly Hills. So what if Piper can't do math, and the idea of sleeping in a shabby apartment with bunk beds gives her hives. How bad could it really be? She's determined to show her stepfather—and the hot, grumpy local—that she's more than a pretty face.
Except it's a small town and everywhere she turns, she bumps into Brendan. The fun-loving socialite and the gruff fisherman are polar opposites, but there's an undeniable attraction simmering between them. Piper doesn't want any distractions, especially feelings for a man who sails off into the sunset for weeks at a time. Yet as she reconnects with her past and begins to feel at home in Westport, Piper starts to wonder if the cold, glamorous life she knew is what she truly wants. LA is calling her name, but Brendan—and this town full of memories—may have already caught her heart.
This sounds brilliant!! It's the only one I've started already and I'm loving the writing style so far. It sounds like a right old journey is going to occur and I'm here for it!
This is how you Fall in Love by Anika Hussain.
Zara and Adnan are just friends. Always have been, always will be. Even if they have to pretend to be girlfriend and boyfriend...
Zara loves love in all forms: 90s romcoms and romance novels and grand sweeping gestures. And she's desperate to have her own great love story. Crucially, a real one. So when her best friend Adnan begs her to pretend to date him to cover up his new top-secret relationship, Zara is hesitant. This isn't the kind of thing she had in mind. But there's something in it for Zara too: making her parents, who love Adnan, happy might just stop them arguing for a while. She may not be getting her own love story, but she could save theirs.
So Zara agrees and the act begins: after all, how different can pretending to be in a relationship with your best friend be to just hanging around with them like usual? Turns out, a lot. With fake dating comes fake hand-holding and fake kissing and real feelings... And when a new boy turns up in Zara's life, things get more confusing than ever.
The course of true love never did run smooth, but Zara's love story is messier than most...
How great does this one sound guys!? I wonder if there will be more than one narrator involved
. Guess I'll have to wait and see!
One Last Stop by Casey Mquiston.
Moving to New York City is supposed to prove cynical twenty-three-year-old August right: magic and cinematic love stories don't exist.
But then, she meets this gorgeous girl on the train.
Jane. Dazzling, charming, mysterious, impossible Jane. Jane with her rough edges and swoopy hair and soft smile.
August's subway crush becomes the best part of her day, but pretty soon she discovers there's one big problem: Jane is displaced in time from the 1970s, and August is going to have to use everything she tried to leave in her own past to help Jane. Maybe it's time to start believing in some things after all.
I've got but yet to finish Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey Mquiston so I'm looking forward to both that and this! It sounds very interesting and I'm hoping it's an easygoing read as the writing is quite small (that's why I love my kindle, all the writing is the same size!

My Killer Vacation by Tessa Bailey.
It was supposed to be a relaxing vacation in sweet, sunny Cape Cod - just me and my beloved brother - but discovering a corpse in our rental house really throws a wrench into our tanning schedule. Now a rude, crude bounty hunter has arrived on the back of his motorcycle to catch the killer and refuses to believe I can be helpful, despite countless hours of true crime podcast listening. Not to mention a fulfilling teaching career of wrangling second graders.
A brash bounty hunter and an energetic elementary schoolteacher: the murder-solving team no one asked for, but thanks to these pesky attempts on my life, we're stuck together, come hell or high tide.
***
I'm just here to do a job, not babysit an amateur sleuth. Although . . . it is becoming less and less of a hardship to have her around. Sure, she's stubborn, distracting and can't stay out of harm's way. She's also brave and beautiful and reminds me of the home I left behind three years ago. In other words, the insatiable hunger and protectiveness she is waking up in me is a threat to my peace of mind. Before I sink any deeper into this dangerous attraction, I need to solve this murder and get back on the road.
But will fate take her from me before I realize the road has been leading to her all along?
God I'm excited for this one!! I like the idea of the two viewpoints as well, I hope it lives up to the hefty expectations I've placed on it because the summary is so damn good!
And there we have it! Thank you for checking out my spontaneous book haul!
Have you got any of the books featured in this post?? I'd love to know, especially if they're any good! Be sure to let me know in the comments below and I'll see you guys again very soon! Stay safe, take care and buh-bye!
