Clean delicate flaky delicious fish steaK - One great way to add some clean flavor to a rather bland-tasting Fish (Grouper) other than the normal deep or pan-fried method which tends to be a little bit too oily. This steamed version (with beautiful fresh Grouper steak) is really very simple and quick to prepare. Simply steam for 15-20 minutes (depending on the size and thickness of the fish) with some julienned Ginger and roughly chopped Preserved Radish, douse with some hot oil and flavorful sauce and your clean delicate flaky delicious fish steak is ready.  - RɛsɪpI Steamed Grouper Steaks With Preserved Radish - Ready : 20 mins[ Prep : 5 mins † Active : 15 mins ]Serves : Pair with other dishes/Finger Food Generic : Steam Difficulty : Easy  Printable Recipe - IngredientS -  • Grouper – Two medium-sized, about 1-inch thick steaks, thoroughly clean and pat dry. - • Side Condiments – A handful of roughly chopped Preserved Radish – washed and soaked for a few minutes. There are basically two types – salted and sweetened. The VianD uses a mixture of both ( preference, U can use either one). Lots of thinly julienned Ginger. -Sauce-
• Light soy, Sugar, Sesame oil, White pepper, a touch of Oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine and a little warm water. While U can simply use normal Soya sauce but it tends to be too salty with no flavors at all. So, prepare ur own sauce mixture. Mix the ingredients together, making sure everything is dissolved. All to taste. - ** Note : Just a dash/pinch of everything, if U prefer a stronger intensity of an ingredient/spice flavor, simply add a little extra of that ingredient/spice, if saucier, add a little more liquid - no rocket scientific measurement here. Always taste your Seasoning !!! The trick is NOT the exact measurement, the trick is "to taste the Seasoning" and get ur preference balance of flavors !!! - InstructionS - ① Steaming the Fish- • Mix all the Sauce Ingredients thoroughly, making sure everything is dissolved. Set aside. - • Next, place the Fish on the slightly deepened steaming plate ( cos there will be liquid produced). Sprinkle all the Ginger strips and all the Radishes on top of the Fish. Steam on high heat for abt 10-15 mins ( depending on the heat and the size of the Fish). Optional - meanwhile, heat a tablespoonful or two of oil to smoking hot. - • Drain excess liquid generated from the steaming process.
