I'm keeping my reading goals uncomplicated.
My GoodReads goal will be 87, the year I was born.
My StoryGraph pages goal will be 36,000 pages. With kid books and graphic novels, I almost at 32,000 this year. Is this unrealistic? Yes but I like the poetry of turning 36 and trying to read 36,000 pages.
6 has always been a strong number for me so I'm leaning into 6 and 36 going into 2023.
I'm going to try to read a book in one of four categories every month. Why not 6? Because I'm a mood reader with a small child. I can only handle so much voluntary homework as an adult.
Book Club Book – I joined an online book club this month. Each month, we'll read one book and discuss it at the midway point and end point. They're all fellow dog pawrents so I was very in at the invite.
Read and Release – These are books that sound like fun but I don't feel strongly about owning. I'll read it then decide if I want to keep it.
5 star prediction – There are a lot of books that I think I'll love and want to make reading them a priority.
Graphic novel - I have a lot of these that need reading, especially anthologies.
