DO NOT JUDGE
John 7:24 - Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly." (NLT)
A teenager on a train suddenly screamed, "Dad! See, the skies are travelling with us". The father looked at the sky and smiled. Meanwhile, a couple who sat behind observed the teenager's strange behaviour. Again, the boy suddenly shouted, "Can't you see? The trees are skidding, and the birds are running at us". This time, the couple said to the dad, "Why not take your son to see a doctor?" The man replied, "Yes, we are just returning from the hospital. My son was born blind and just regained his sight today". The husband and wife immediately knew that they were too quick to judge a matter they did not have knowledge of.
Every human has the tendency to bias thoughts. Sometimes we form opinions about people or issues only to discover that we were wrong in our assumptions. This is why our Bible reading charges us never to make conclusions by mere observation but to look inward to discern the truth of the matter. The Holy Spirit can help us make the right decisions if we are sensitive to His leadership. Beloved, if you have been judging others as this couple did, stop it! Instead, make Christ your perfect example of how to love, dwell in wisdom, respond to the Holy Spirit, and give people the benefit of the doubt. With this, heaven will be pleased with you!
