The world's first solar panels

I spent a delightful 50+ minutes this afternoon chatting about plant physiology– and popular misconceptions about such– with Kat.
At issue is the idea that less than perfect leaves should be wacked off the plant so as to allow the plant to channel its good intensions to more desirable parts of the plant. What poppycock.
Kat is correct. This is poppycock.
There are all sorts of reasons to cleans up dying leaves. Channeling good intensions are not among them.
The chlorophyl– the pigment– in leaves captures the radiant energy of sunlight and ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? the process of photosynthesis converts it into stored energy. C6H12O2.
Leaves are solar panels for Life.
Damaged solar panels still capture energy.
