THE STRATEGY OF THE ENEMY
Exodus 15:9
The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. (KJV)
Today's Bible reading reveals the mission and strategy of the enemy. In the same way that Pharoah pursued the Israelites, the immediate intention of every enemy is to destroy the innocent ones. There are several reasons why wicked people attack. In the case of King Saul, he saw David as a threat to his throne, so he targeted his life. However, David overcame the attacks through God's help, and he even spared Saul when he had the opportunity to kill him (1 Samuel 24:1-13). If David had not had God as his defence, he would have become a victim of the enemy's plot.
The enemy can also set traps to cover their reproach. A king once sent a messenger to drown three prominent chiefs because they knew about his secret. Afterwards, the ruler killed the messenger so nobody could trace the incident. This is similar to what David did to Uriah after he had slept with his wife, Beersheba. David ensured that Uriah was placed at the battlefront, where he was quickly killed (2 Samuel 11:6-17).
Beloved, don't be ignorant of the strategy of the enemy. There are powers ready to pursue and hunt you simply because they perceive you as a threat to their plans or in your workplace, community, or family. But the good news is that as you pray violently, the God who delivers will rescue you from every Pharaoh planning your doom, in Jesus' name. Amen!
