Prior to Stratford, we made a stop in Guelph to visit a boutique plant store. While walking around downtown Guelph, we noticed a colourful doughnut shop with a line up.
You know me and sweets… I had to join the line up.
Lady Glaze Doughnuts are known in Southwestern Ontario with their OG location in Kitchener. Their Guelph location opened last year. Their doughnut offerings are raised doughnuts with some vegan and gluten-free options. Some flavours vary depending on season.
At the time of visit, the store had a long-weekend promotion of a dozen doughnut for $30, whereas regularly is $39. It was a good deal, but in hindsight, a dozen doughnuts is a lot, so I split them with my brother.
Also at the time, the Summer Olympics was on and they had some Olympic-themed offers.
Left: Citrus Blast, Olympic Ring (black), Belmont Cream (LDG's version of Boston cream with Belgian chocolate glaze), Vanilla Bean Sprinkles (vanilla bean glaze and rainbow sprinkles). Centre: Olympic Ring (yellow), Bumbleberry Pie (Bumbleberry pie filling and pie crust), Vanilla Bean Sprinkles, and Pucker Up. Right: Chocolate Sprinkles (Belgian chocolate glaze and rainbow sprinkles), Citrus Blast, Cherry Almond (cherry glaze, toasted almonds and dried cherry) and Chocolate Sprinkles.
They do have other flavours, but some of them didn't appeal to me. I think if I had gotten half a dozen, it would have been easier to make choices.
The doughnuts were good, and the flavours are quite creative. I felt like a sugar bomb was going to go off though, my fault for getting a dozen doughnuts, but sometimes I can't resist a deal.
