I have actually used this apology in one form or another in personal relationships and at work - it is absolutely spot on - the other "statement" I use quite often is when someone tries to lay guilt - well YOU really should CARE about such and such - or the catch phrase that is currently in fashion - I'm offended!! - without hesitation - almost a programmed response from me - "It's not that I do care or don't care - I simply don't give a fuck about the fact that I don't care" - when you tell a "manager" / HR director / or anyone trying to "suck you in" - that response pretty much drops a turd in the punch bowl . . .
