One of my biggest annoyances when it comes to planner pages is they often start on Monday and end Sunday. Sometimes they even squeeze Saturday and Sunday together into half-size boxes. While this isn't a terribly big deal, it is not how I view my week or organize my schedule. My week starts on Sunday and ends on Sabbath.
I have recently been looking for meal planning inserts to plan out dinners for the week. We usually plan one-two weeks at a time and do the shopping all at once. The pages I've found so far have not really met my needs, so I decided to create my own. So far, this is what I've come up with:
This is the first draft of my menu planner insert. We typically eat out on Saturday nights, so no ingredients list is needed. Once I get this printed and start using it for planning our dinners, I'll be able to see what works and what doesn't. Then I can make changes as needed to make it more useable for us. I also have a shopping list insert in progress. It is specific to how we shop, so I have a section for bulk items we get from Sam's Club and BJ's, then I separate our Publix groceries by category.
I can't wait to get these printed out and organized in my new planner cover. I got it on clearance at Hobby Lobby for just over $6. I love that place!
I may venture into other SDA-friendly planner inserts as I continue trying to find my best planner method. I have tried using planners before but I can never stick to them. I have one small planner that I use specifically for budgeting, but I've never gotten the hang of using a general life planner. We'll start with the menu pages and build from there.
Tell me... Do you use a planner (or multiple)? What methods work best for you? Do you design your own inserts or purchase them? I'd love to know how yall organize your lives.
Be blessed!
