Because just chocolate chips aren't enough. I found some cool caramel chips at Trader Joe's and decided I HAD to do something with them (yes, I bought them first).
I thought they would be a nice complement in blondies, so I split the chips half chocolate and half caramel, and let me just say…sometimes, I'm a genius.
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 t baking soda
- 2 t baking powder
- 1 t salt
- 1 ½ cups butter, softened to room temperature
- 4 cups dark brown sugar
- 4 eggs, brought to room temperature
- 3 t vanilla
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel chips
Directions
Butter and flour a 13" x 9" pan and set it aside.
Put the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt into a bowl and whisk together. Set that aside, too.
Place the butter and brown sugar in a large bowl and mix until well combined. Next, add in the eggs and vanilla and mix again until well combined. Finally, grab your flour mixture and mix that in as well.
Set aside the mixer and add in the chocolate and caramel chips, and stir with a wooden spoon until they're evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into your prepared pan, even it out with a spatula, and bake at 350 for about 50 minutes, the edges are a nice golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry.
Move to a wire rack and let it cool completely. Yum!
