The South West of England has long provided inspiration for artists. Since moving down here from the North of England you cannot but notice the quality of the light. It is ever changing but seems to offer colours, particularly blues, that I have found nowhere else.
The bay where we live attracted Turner to paint some of his vivid skies and cloud formations. The cloud patterns are so unusual, almost sculptural and drift slowly on the horizon over the bay before bursting into spectacular life when a storm brews.
My book artist has taken the time of lockdown to paint more scenes of the South West rather than France and the results are beautiful.
Hopefully as lockdown eases she can get more into Cornwall and Devon once more and add to the collection
